Imprints of Life is an interdisciplinary Art/ Humanities project culminating in a Dia de los Muertos- inspired product and exhibition. The project will focus on two elements of celebrating life - celebrating our identities and journeys and then celebrating the identities and journeys of those who have impacted us the most. Students will learn about the history of Dia de los Muertos, write poetry, and create prints that use symbolism to represent an important person in their lives.

Part 1The first part of this project will focus on celebrating students' identities by learning about ourselves and each other. Students will write a Where I'm From poem and create an art piece inspired by a map.

Part 2During the second phase of this project, students will learn about the history of Dia de los Muertos and the culture of celebrating life. Students will choose a person who has made an impact on their lives and create a final print and poem that celebrates that person's life.
