Project Overview
In this interdisciplinary art / humanities project, students will study art history, focusing on the early modern movement of Cubism. Specifically, students will investigate the purpose, meaning, and history behind Picasso’s famous painting, Guernica. As a team, we will recreate this masterpiece and each student will be given a part of painting. Students will draw to scale, learn how to mix and paint a gray scale monochromatic painting. Get ready to dive into a visual and contextual dissection of this significant, iconic representation of war and peace!
