Pre-Columbian Civilization WebQuest - Goofy Goobers
Introduction
You and your partner have been selected to travel to the past and visit a great Pre-Columbia Empire. This journey will allow you to analyze and admire the many outstanding Mayan, Aztec, Inca, or Olmec achievements. Your mission is to study how the people of your chosen civilization lived and present your findings to your fellow peers.
Task
Your task for this project is to become an expert on one of the major Pre-Columbian civilizations. You and your partner will be on a WebQuest to search for information. You will complete a Google presentation and present it to your class at the end of your research. You will need to gather information about your questions about these civilizations.
Process
Step 1: Discuss with your partner what questions you have about the Civilization you chose to research. Next decide a way of gathering the information that you need to answer those questions.
Step 2: Research your 4 questions about your civilization and record your findings on paper or in a Google doc. As you research, select examples of images you think would work well in your presentation. Be sure to save them or save the addresses (URLs) of the Web pages where you found them so you can go back and use them later.
Step 3: Once you have finished your research, you will create a Google presentation displaying the knowledge you gained. The presentation must have at least 1 slide of information and one image for each of your 4 questions and at least 1 slide with major symbols from that civilization!
*INFORMATION ON THE SLIDES NEEDS TO BE PRECISE AND ACCURATE. DO NOT INCLUDE LARGE PARAGRAPHS OF INFORMATION!
*IMAGES NEED TO REPRESENT THE INFORMATION!
*Extra slides can be added as a challenge option*

Hundreds of years ago in what is now modern Honduras, Copán was a thriving center of Maya life. Tens of thousands of people made their home in the Copán Valley. Yet despite its importance, Copán went into decline. Across the vast territory of the ancient Maya, other important sites were sharing a similar fate. Classic Maya civilization was collapsing.
